Lamé thread originated from the gold thread manufacturing method which in Japan is made only in Kyoto. It can be made in various strengths and thicknesses, and is made by coloring a film of synthetic fiber, and finely chopping it with the core material. There are various kinds of core materials and coloring agents, and there are various ways of twisting it. Lamé thread that memorizes shapes also came about when out-of-the-box thinking was applied to the core materials.
