Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture is a major production area responsible for about 70% of the production volume of domestic canvas. In the 130 year-old Takeyari factory they make canvas of various thickness from No. 1 to No. 11 through consistent processes from doubling and yarn twisting to weaving. It has a wide range of applications starting from familiar apparel products, such as bags and shoes, but it is also used for conveyor belts, gymnasium mats, uniforms, sofa covers and curtains.
