※Please contact us for the latest stock status.
Hikihaku is a kind of decorative thread made by applying gold/silver foil or powder on the surface of Japanese paper to create designs, and then cutting the paper very finely. It has been used since ancient times as one of the base materials for nishijin-ori (a traditional Japanese textile). Through various processing techniques, it is possible to give the fabric a deep metallic texture and luster, as well as create subtle gradations and patterns on it.
